Neurodiversity is a concept that is more commonly being used to describe learning differences, such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and autism. ARTSMATTER embraces both our neurodivergent and neurotypical students by providing an inclusive space that addresses that each person is unique in their own way.

In terms of education, acknowledging and celebrating neurodiversity is imperative for a child’s academic success. Some benefits include:

  • Allowing children to understand they have challenges that require support.

  • Reduces stigma and lack of self-esteem.

  • Minimize risk of children falling behind in school.

Our educator, Michelle Michlik, is experienced with children with neurodiverse needs and has designed instructional programs that cater to those needs.
